Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board’s nine members have oversight of the Group’s business operations, and make decisions based on the Rules of Procedure of the Supervisory Board.

Dubravko Štimac

Supervisory Board President

Dubravko Štimac was elected Podravka Supervisory Board President in February 2012, having been a Supervisory Board member since 2006.

He started his professional career as an independent sales clerk at Zagrebačka tvornica papira (Zagreb Paper Factory), continuing as an independent officer in foreign trade at PBZ Invest Holding, where he became the manager of the foreign trade sector. In January 2001 he took on the role of Project Manager of Retirement Reform at Privredna banka Zagreb, before moving on in October 2001 to become the Management Board President of PBZ Croatia Osiguranje, the association for managing obligatory retirement funds. He graduated from the Faculty of Economy and Business in Zagreb in 1992, and two years later he received his MA in Organisation and Management. He participated in the Securities Processing Training Program in New York, organised by the Bank of New York, and in Fund Management at the City University Business School in London.


Mato Crkvenac

Supervisory Board Deputy President

Mato Crkvenac was appointed Podravka Supervisory Board Deputy President in February 2012 by the Government Assets Management Agency (GAMA).

He started his professional career at the Republic Institute for Planning, and five years later he became Sector Director at the Republic Institute for Economic Movements and Economic Policy. In 1978 he became General Manager at the Republic Institute for Planning and also a member of the Executive Council of the Parliament of SRH. 1986 saw him become a representative and deputy chairman of the Parliament of SRH. From 2000 to 2004 he performed the duties of Finance Minister in the Croatian Government, and later was a representative at the Croatian Parliament. At the Faculty of Economy and Business in Zagreb he was an assistant and scientific assistant, and was elected Senior Lecturer. Four years later he was elected Associate Professor, and in 1991 he was elected Professor. He graduated from the Faculty of Economy and Business, and received his MA from the Institute of Economic Sciences in Belgrade. He received his PhD from the Faculty of Economy and Business at Zagreb University.


Ivana Matovina

Supervisory Board Member

Ivana Matovina was appointed Podravka Supervisory Board Member in July 2012.

Today she is a certified Croatian auditor and certified accountant of Great Britain. She started her professional career as an accounting manager, and in 1997 she became a director of KPMG Croatia. Two years later she was a partner and director of Cinotti revizija and savjetovanje d.o.o. for auditing, internal auditing, accounting and business counseling and education. From 2011 she was a founder and director of Antares revizija and savjetovanje d.o.o. for auditing and counseling. She was a member of the Croatian Auditing Chamber Management Council, and today she is a HANFA Council member and a member of the Committee for Financial Reporting Standards. She graduated from the Faculty of Economy and Business at Zagreb University, Accounting and Finance course.


Ksenija Horvat

Supervisory Board Member

Ksenija Horvat was appointed Member of the Podravka d.d. Supervisory Board in July 2015 by the company’s Workers' Council. 

She began her career at Podravka in 1984 in an administrative position, and after successfully continuing her education while working she took on commercial tasks for the Croatian market. In 2001, serving as the representative of the largest union in Podravka, PPDIV, she took on a full-time role in the union and has since become one of the leading union negotiators for improving the rights of Podravka employees through collective agreements in the Podravka Group. In 2002 she was elected into the Podravka Workers' Council, and since 2013 she has served as Chairwoman. She first served as the workers' representative on the Podravka Supervisory Board from 2002–2012, during which time she also served as Vice Chairperson of the Supervisory Board, assuming the role of Interim Chairperson from 2009–2010.


Ivo Družić

Supervisory Board Member

Ivo Družić was appointed Podravka Supervisory Board Member in February 2012 by the Government Assets Management Agency (GAMA).

He is employed at the Faculty of Economy and Business in Zagreb as a full-time professor, and is Head of Scientific Postgraduate Study of the Economy and Development at the Faculty of Economy and Business in Zagreb. He stayed in Brighton, England at the University of Sussex as a Visiting Fellow in 1990/91, and as Research Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh, USA in 1994. He was also a Visiting Professor in 1995 at the University of Beijing in China, and in 1997/98 at the University of Pittsburgh. He has authored 2 books, co-authored 6 (2 of which he edited), 19 scientific works in magazines with international review, 10 works in proceedings from international scientific conventions, and 18 scientific works in domestic magazines and proceedings. He received his MA in 1981 and his PhD in 1988 from the Faculty of Economy and Business in Zagreb.


Milan Stojanović

Milan Stojanović was elected Podravka Supervisory Board Member in July 2012.

He has filled his professional career with 35 years of work experience at both director and manager level in economy. He has also served two terms as a representative in the Croatian National Parliament between 1990 and 1996. A retired economist, he has also been Supervisory Board President for Zlatna igla Siscia d.o.o. and Management Board President for the Development and Employment Fund in the Republic of Croatia. He has published numerous works and research in the area of marketing and economy. He has twice received the title of Manager of the Year. He also holds an MA.


Petar Vlaić

Petar Vlaić was elected Podravka Supervisory Board member in September 2010.

He started his professional career as a broker at the brokerage house Ilirika, later becoming a portfolio manager and trade manager. After moving to Zagreb he became the first fund manager in the Republic of Croatia in the first Croatian investment fund Kaptol Proinvest. Later he worked as a trade manager at IB Austria, before transferring to the position of Fund Manager at the Central National Fund. In 2001 he became the Management Board President of Adriatic Invest, managing the Mandatory Blue Retirement Fund. In late 2003 Erste MRF and Helios MRF merged with the Blue Fund, changing its name to Erste Blue Mandatory Pension Fund. During his work for the company managing the privatization investment fund, he was a member of several supervisory boards of Croatian companies. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Ljubljana, after which he gained the title of Chartered Financial Analyst from a program organized by the American Association of Investment Professionals ICFA.


Dinko Novoselec

Dinko Novoselec was elected Podravka Supervisory Board Member in September 2010.

He started his professional career at the Croatian National Bank managing foreign reserves. In late 1998 he transferred to Zagrebačka banka as head of the analytics department, and then to ZB Invest, a company managing investment funds, as a Management Board member. In 2001 he became a Management Board member of Allianz ZB d.o.o., the company managing the AZ Obligatory Pension Fund, and in April 2003 he was appointed Management Board President. He graduated math at the Faculty of Science in Zagreb, and in 2000 gained the title of Chartered Financial Analyst from a program organized by the American Association of Investment Professionals ICFA.


Petar Miladin

Supervisory Board Member

Petar Miladin was elected Podravka Supervisory Board Member in September 2010.

He was employed at the Law Faculty in Zagreb in 1997 as Junior Assistant at the Department for Commercial Law and Companies Law. In December 1999 he became Assistant at the same department, and later Senior Assistant.  From 2005 he was Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, becoming Professor in 2009. He has published around twenty scientific works in commercial law, companies law and banking law. Upon graduating from his studies, he worked as a trainee in the County and Commercial Court in Zagreb. He received his MA at the Postgraduate Scientific Study in Commercial Law and Companies Law at the Law Faculty of the Zagreb University, and he defended his doctoral dissertation Payment by Remittance in 2005 at the Faculty of Law at the Zagreb University, receiving his PhD in the scientific field of law.
