Mushroom and vegetable patties

Serve mushroom and vegetable patties with Podravka Ajvar and a large green salad for a dish with crispy freshness.

Mushroom and vegetable patties


  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 400 g potatoes
  • 100 g carrot
  • 100 g celery
  • celery peas
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • 20 g butter
  • 1-2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp grated Parmesan
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • frying oil
  • Podravka Mild Ajvar, to serve
  • leafy spring greens


  1. Cook cleaned carrot, celery and peas in a little salted water, drain and chop finely.
  2. Wash mushrooms, slice and fry in some butter with a little salt.
  3. Add flour to the remaining heated butter and stir. Pour in milk and cook briefly. Let cool slightly, and add in beaten egg, Parmesan cheese and nutmeg.
  4. Add prepared mushrooms, boiled, mashed potatoes, vegetables and breadcrumbs. Add turmeric, thyme and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
  5. Shape patties from the mixture then coat in flour, beaten egg and then breadcrumbs. Fry in heated oil.
  6. Serve with Podravka Mild Ajvar and a leafy green salad.

Serving: Servera med ajvar och mycket grön sallad.

Chef's tip: Vegetables may be replaced by any you like.
